UPS will often do this if you have requested your deliveries be made to the Access Point instead of your address. They will also do this if there is weather, coming weather or winds that might ruin or blow away you parcel if it is left outside, or if UPS feels that the parcel is not secure. UPS is supposed to leave a note for you, but often those will fall off or get blown away. Unfortunately we cannot and do not control how they do this but honestly in today's time with parcel theft it might be a good idea to actually redirect your parcel to an Access Point for peace of mind.
Please check your tracking from time to time to see if you parcel is being held at a nearby Access Point.
If you’re unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days. After 7 calendar days, your package will be returned to the sender as undeliverable. Before you go to the UPS Access Point location, track your package to confirm package location and that it’s “Awaiting Customer Pickup”. When you track your package, you can also view the operating hours (weekend hours are available) and a map of where you will pick up your package. You will need your ID which must match the name on the parcel to verify who you are for the parcel to be released.
