These work well for talking off and putting on 3/8-24 threaded antennas. Works great for HamSticks and similar antennas having the thread mounting. The mount body is about 2" in length. Simply screw this disconnect in where the antenna did and adjust the antenna accordingly for the length of the disconnect and then screw the antenna into the top.
One fellow said that he could not get these apart with his hands. These are designed to be that way or else the antenna might fall off and that would not be good. So unless you just like the gym and building arm and hand strength, we would suggest the easy way to get these apart. Put the disconnect on the mount and the antenna on the disconnnect, then push using the antenna or the antenna rod down while twisting. It is fairly easy that way.
