Many call these simply SMA Female to N Female adapters and it is true they work for that. However, these also work dandy as a chassis panel replacement for damaged or munged N Female connectors.  Takes a minimum size hole of about 7/16" (max about 5/8") and about 3/8" for the thread going through the panel (not counting the SMA fitting). Nose extends about about 1-1/8" from the panel. Overall length is about 1-3/4".  May or may not be stamped with brand on side depending on the run lot. Nice and new!

These are very high quality connectors or adapters. If it fits hole diameter wise into your instrument but you have a soldered connection, many will either change the backside cable to one using a SMA or add the SMA connector to their cable.
